Dynamic Combat System (VRChat)

Warning this system is quite old right now

An avatar system for fighting people with swords, crossbows, torches, lutes and dynamic blocking. Play a tune with the lute and then smack em in the head with it. Potion drinking is also involved.

Setup to be compatible with any avatar.

Important note is that due to latency there can be times you strike someone on your screen, but if you did not hit them on their screen then the attack will not deal damage

Requirements

Poiyomi Toon Shader version 8.1.166 or newer (At the moment Poiyomi is absolutely essential for how the hp bar works)

Avatars 3.0 Manager version 2.0.2.3 or newer (Not required but makes installation quite a bit easier)

Avatars SDK version 3.2.0 or newer

System Details

• A Sword that will enter a blocking state upon making contact with something that has a "Sword" contact sender. Can also block the crossbow bolt.
• A Crossbow with dynamic loading. To load the crossbow pull its blue indicator back fully and once loaded (Others can load your crossbow), it is fired by doing the "Thumbs Up" gesture with your left hand.
• A Healing Potion with a total of 3 uses. Drink it by raising it up to your head or put it up to someone else's head and let them drink it.
• A Shield that can block any and all attacks. Capable of shield bashing when you hit someone in the head.
• A Torch with dynamic lighting and Realtime shadows. Upon equipping the torch, it will automatically light itself. Can be used as a weapon but will snap upon being hit by the sword or a crossbow bolt.
• A Lute that can be played by you or anyone else when its center strings are strummed. Flip the lute into play mode by doing the "RockNRoll" gesture with your right hand and flip it back up to attack mode with the "Thumbs Up" gesture with your right hand. While in play mode it cannot be hit or be used to hit anyone, while in attack mode the lute can damage people and will have dynamic blocking with other lutes. Can be hit a total of 4 times by a sword or crossbow bolt before it will break.
• Sound effects for practically everything.
• Ability to Punch and Kick others. Punching can be mitigated by blocking with your arms. You must do a "Fist" gesture with either of your hands to enable the punching collider on that hand.
• Screen effects for when you are defeated or hit in the head by blunt damage. The things that are currently counted as blunt damage are punching, kicking, lute, and shield bashing.
• Everything will do different amounts of damage depending on whether the Legs, Arms, Body or Head were hit. To read more on the exact damage values for everything and additional details about the senders and receivers look here
• An Hp Bar which will deplete as you take damage as well as a small hp bar on your arm that only you can see. Both can be toggled off incase you just want to mess around with the weapons without being damageable.
• To reset everything you must toggle the system on and off.
• Uses 43 Memory.

Terms of Use

• You are Allowed to use this system or parts of this system in avatar commissions as long as both parties own it.
• You are Allowed to put this system on public avatars As Long as you credit me and include a link back to this gumroad.
• You are Allowed to make and sell assets for the Dynamic Combat System as long as no files from the system are included.
• You are Not Allowed to redistribute or resell the files of this system.
• Currently this system is Not Quest Compatible and can only be used inside of VRChat.
